LaunchBoom Alternatives UK: 7 Options for British Crowdfunding Founders (2026)

Blog

May 15, 2026

LaunchBoom built its reputation on a single, elegant idea: a $1 reservation deposit pre-launch that locks in early-bird buyers and predicts campaign success with surprising accuracy. They're the best-known crowdfunding agency in the world, and they take UK clients. So why are British founders Googling alternatives?

Three reasons we hear repeatedly: pricing (LaunchBoom's tiers reportedly start around $4K–$12K plus performance fees), timezone friction with a US team, and the fact that LaunchBoom's system-driven approach doesn't suit every founder. Some campaigns benefit from a more bespoke, hands-on partnership than a productized funnel.

This post covers the realistic UK-accessible alternatives, what each is actually good at, and where we (SVBY) honestly fit in the lineup. We're one of the alternatives — and we'll tell you when one of the others is the better call.

Before you compare: equity vs rewards crowdfunding

This is the most common mistake we see in "UK crowdfunding agency" searches. There are two different industries here, and the agencies don't overlap.

Rewards crowdfunding is Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Gamefound, and BackerKit. Backers pre-order a product. LaunchBoom and the alternatives below operate in this space.

Equity crowdfunding is Crowdcube, Republic Europe (formerly Seedrs), and SeedLegals. Backers buy shares in your company. This is a regulated financial product and the agencies that serve it are completely different.

If you're raising equity in the UK, TribeFirst is the dominant agency — £30M+ raised, 70+ companies, partnered with Crowdcube and Republic Europe. They're often the top result when people search "UK crowdfunding agency," but they will not help you run a Kickstarter campaign. Don't waste a call.

Everything below is for rewards crowdfunding specifically.

UK-based rewards crowdfunding agencies

BrandRefinery (brandrefinery.co.uk) calls itself "the UK's first crowdfunding consultancy" (founded 2012). Worcestershire and London offices. Reported pricing: £1K–£5K per month, retainer-style, typically over 1–3 months. They work both rewards and equity. Strengths: UK-native, founder-friendly pricing, comfortable with smaller campaigns. Where they're weaker than LaunchBoom: smaller scale, no proprietary pre-launch funnel system, and less polished case-study library.

Hyperstarter (hyperstarter.com) operates from Bristol with a secondary base in Zhuhai, China. They work Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and the equity platforms. Their distinctive feature: emphasis on organic marketing, PR, and influencer outreach rather than maxing out paid ads. Pricing is custom-package, not commission. Strengths: UK presence, less ad-spend-dependent, useful if you have a story-rich product. Weaker than LaunchBoom on: pre-launch list-building scale, mixed third-party reviews, less proven on huge launches.

Wow Your Crowd (wowyourcrowd.co.uk) is based in Wimbledon, London. Strong creative/video orientation alongside marketing, PR, email, and social. Smaller operation. Good fit if your product needs a memorable video and you want a London-based partner. Less scale on paid ads than the big names.

Blazon Agency (blazonagency.com) has offices in London and Brooklyn. Founded 2015. Claims 500+ campaigns and $250M+ raised across rewards and equity. Larger end of pricing — full-service implies a proper retainer plus performance. Closest UK-based equivalent to LaunchBoom's scale and full-service model.

BoostYourCampaign (boostyourcampaign.com) has offices in New York, London, and Lisbon. Done-for-you Kickstarter and Indiegogo management. Pricing not public.

Global agencies that work with UK clients

Jellop (jellop.com) is Kickstarter's official advertising partner. Performance-only pricing — roughly 15% of pledges attributable to their ads, often working out to ~5% of total raise. They don't help with pre-launch, page design, or video — they only run paid ads during the live campaign, but they do that part better than almost anyone. Best alternative to LaunchBoom if you've already got the rest of your campaign handled and just need professional ad execution. Remote-friendly with UK founders.

BackerKit Marketing (backerkit.com) fronts your ad spend and only takes a commission if the campaign funds. Lowest-risk pricing model in the industry. Ads only, not full management. Particularly strong if you're using BackerKit's platform.

Agency 2.0 (agency20.com) is one of the oldest crowdfunding agencies (founded 2010), LA-based. Starts around $5K flat plus performance commission, with a lower-tier "Ad Accelerator" option. Strong on creative and video. Tech and hardware-heavy portfolio. Remote engagements with UK clients are routine.

Funded Today (funded.today) deserves a mention but a measured one — they're the biggest agency by claimed total raised, but their commission rate (often 35%) is high and their public reputation on Trustpilot and Reddit is mixed. We'd suggest reading the recent reviews before reaching out.

Where SVBY honestly fits

We need to be straight: we're not LaunchBoom's scale. We're a small UK-friendly consultancy that's been doing crowdfunding since 2016 and has helped 10–25 campaigns. We take a limited number of projects per quarter because we want to give each one our full focus.

When we make sense as a LaunchBoom alternative:

You want a small team that treats your campaign as a project they're personally invested in, rather than an account being managed by a junior on a roster of dozens. You're a first-time creator who'd benefit from the empathy of working with someone who's been a first-time creator themselves. You want bespoke strategy, not a productized funnel. Your campaign is in the £20K–£200K goal range, where LaunchBoom's fees can feel disproportionate.

When you should pick someone else:

You need scale — pick Jellop or Blazon. You're aiming for a $1M+ raise and need a team with that exact track record — call LaunchBoom directly. You need product engineering as well as marketing — that's Enventys Partners. You're raising equity, not rewards — call TribeFirst.

What we don't offer that LaunchBoom does: a proprietary reservation funnel software system. A team of 30. Case studies in the $5M+ range. Pre-built playbooks for every product category. If those are what you need, the right answer is LaunchBoom, not a boutique.

What we offer that they don't: dedicated time from the people who'll actually do your work, not the people who sold you. The empathy of having been on your side of the launch. And the willingness to say no to projects that aren't a fit, which protects the projects we do take.

How to choose: a decision framework

If your goal is £200K+ and you have budget for a $5K–$15K agency engagement: shortlist LaunchBoom, Blazon, and Agency 2.0. Compare on chemistry with the assigned team, not just track record.

If your goal is £50K–£200K and you want a UK-based bespoke partner: shortlist BrandRefinery, Wow Your Crowd, SVBY, and Hyperstarter.

If you've got your page and list handled and just want professional paid ads: Jellop is the cleanest choice, BackerKit Marketing if you're on their platform.

If your goal is under £50K: most agency fees won't be economic at that scale. Read our DIY vs agency post — you might be better served running it yourself or hiring a consultant for a few hours of strategy review.

Questions to ask any agency before you sign

How many UK campaigns have you specifically run? Who exactly will be working on my account day to day? What's your refund or termination policy if the campaign isn't performing? Do you require exclusivity on Meta/Google ads? Can I talk to two creators you worked with in the last six months?

Reluctance to answer any of these is the signal.
